It was a back and forth contest as Samoa rushed out of the gate early scoring in the first minute through Uaina Sione. Australia stayed composed, replying on every attack with tries from Matt Gonzalez, Josh Turner, and Corey Toole.

Coming down to the final minutes it looked like Samoa may take the upset with a late try from Steve Rimoni. However, debutant Tim Clements shut the door on the final whistle scoring to give Australia a 9-point win.

Australian Men 28 defeated Spain 12

Australia came out dominant in their second game showing a clinical display of rugby over Spain. It was Josh Turner and Matt Gonzalez who starred in the match scoring two tries respectively.

Spain finished strong in the game however it wasn't enough to overcome a first-half clinic shown by the Australians as they ran away with their second victory of the day.

Australian Men 40 defeated England 0

The Aussies put on one of their strongest performances of the season to round out the final game of the regular season to finish the pool rounds in Singapore.

There was a total of six tries scored in total almost obtaining a record margin over England. Dietrich Roache and Henry Hutchinson were the two stars in the attacking master class with the team winning by 40-points at full-time.

Australian Men 29 defeated Argentina 5

The Australian Men's sevens continued their winning ways during day two of their Singapore campaign, with the pace from Corey Toole proving too much to match as he crossed for the opening two tries, before Dietrich Roache kicked a penalty to widen the gap at halftime.

Toole crossed again in the opening minutes of the second half as the men in gold continued to steam ahead. Matt Gonzalez was next to find the chalk for the Aussies as the team rounded out the match, right before Argentina crossed on full time.

Australian Men 12 defeated by Fiji 19

The sides unbeaten run has come to an end, following a nailbiting 12-19 loss to the reigning Olympic Champions.

Fiji were first to cross in the match, however it was the senior leadership of Nick Malouf and Henry Hutchison that propelled the Aussies forward to lead 12-7 at the break.

A galliant defensive effort by the Australian's dominated the second half with the men in gold reduced to six men following a yellow card to Dietreich Roache, however it provided the Fijian's with the perfect opportunity to regain their lead on the scorecard.

Australian Men 21 defeated Ireland 19

Corey Toole again kepts his impressive form for the Australian's and opened the scoring minutes into the match before Singapore debutant, Ben Marr crossed for Australian second. Ireland looked to apply pressure to the Australian defence finally crossing for back to back tries to tie the match up at the interval.

Dietreich Roache was first to cross in the second half to push the Aussies forward, however a yellow card to Nick Malouf saw Ireland capitalise on the overlap. A back and forth tussle recommenced from the restart however the Australian defence remained strong as the team waited out the clock to claim bronze.
