The Western Force is excited to confirm emerging scrum-half Luke Aiken’s elevation from the Academy squad to the Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific squad for the 2027 season.
The 20-year-old half-back is the latest addition to the 2027 squad, joining the scrum-half ranks alongside Henry Robertson, Nathan Hastie and Agustin Moyano.
Aiken has been part of the Force’s Academy squad for the past 12 months and was part of the 2025 Super Rugby AUS group, before being a train-and-trial member in Super Rugby Pacific pre-season.

The scrum-half started two games for the Force during Super Rugby Next Gen in February, before plying his trade with Perth Bayswater throughout the 2026 Fortescue WA Premier Grade season where he was a key figure with his speed and creativity.
Previously, the Sunshine Coast Grammar School graduate was part of the 2023 Australia Schools and U18s squad. In the past, Aiken has spent time with the Auckland Blues Under-20s and Queensland Reds Under-18s set-ups.
Force head coach Simon Cron highlighted the half-back's strong club form and long-term potential.
Cron said: "Luke has worked hard in our environment and continues to stand out in WA club rugby.
“We’ll continue bringing him through. He is a player for the future and adds to the depth of our half-back options.”
For Aiken, little changes day-to-day with the elevation, having already been around the squad, but said he’s excited to continue to work with his half-back mentors and push himself to develop.
Aiken said: “I’m excited to officially be with the main Super squad. I was already training with the squad, so I know this is a tight-knit group.
“I’ve come from New Zealand previously, where it’s similar to here with players coming into their chosen home, so I really like that at the Force.
“It’s great to be one step closer to playing Super Rugby as a top-squad member but the exciting part is having full-time access to coaches like Nic White and being around players like Nathan Hastie and Henry Robertson who are all great mentors. The more exposure I get, the better for me.
“As shown by the back-half of last season, the Force is heading in the right direction. This is a squad that wants to play for each other and I can’t wait to rip in.”
