Rory Arnold has been ruled out of the Wallabies' side to take on the Barbarians, opening the door for teenager Liam Wright to take on the Barbarians.

Arnold is still battling a cork he suffered playing for the Canberra Vikings in the NRC a fortnight ago, unable to train fully this week.

The 27-year-old's injury means Kane Douglas will come into the starting team to face the Barbarians, up against fellow Aussies Luke Jones and Sam Carter.

U20s backrower Liam Wright comes onto the bench, without having played a moment of Super Rugby for the Reds, though he was on Thursday night named the U20s Player of the Year.

A versatile backrower, Wright was a surprise inclusion into the Wallabies squad for the Barbarians week, and though he's not getting a Test debut with the game not an official capped match, he will have a taste of international rugby.

The Queenslander was set to fly back to Brisbane on Saturday ahead of Sunday's Queensland Country clash with the Perth Spirit.

Australia takes on the Barbarians on Saturday October 28, kicking off at 3pm AEDT, LIVE on FOX SPORTS and Network Ten.
