The Australia U18s have swept through New Zealand Secondary Schools to claim a 55-33 victory and 2-0 series win in Canberra.

The win came off the back of one of the best first halves an Australian side has ever played, taking a 36-0 lead after 30 minutes.

Winger Talen Risati crossed for a double as the hosts were unstoppable in attack to sweep their Kiwi counterparts, who made the game tight in the second half.

On a day where James Slipper is set to retire from international Rugby, another Southport School loosehead stated his claim as one of the best prop prospects in the world in Kingsley Uys.

Uys set the tone for a powerful pack performance, making it three from three for the Reds prospect against New Zealand.

The Australians sent an ominous message early when fullback Nicholas Conway took the kick-off and instantly broke the Kiwi defence, a sign of what was to come.

Conway dived over for the opener in the fourth minute after a break from second rower William Ross created the space in the defensive line.

A fortuitous bounce delivered the Australians their second try after flanker Jarvis Orr released sustained NZ pressure. He offloaded back to prop Uys, with the ball bouncing off his newly shaved head as he rumbled down the field and handed off to winger Talen Risati to finish off the play.

Risati got his second in the 20th minute thanks to a ripping long ball from Finn Mackay.

It was all the hosts as Cyrus Bloomfield compounded a Kiwi mistake as he latched onto it, kicking ahead for Brady Foakes to touch it down.

Uys got his own try, peeling away from the rolling maul as he proved unstoppable as Orr followed him over, leaving everyone at Viking Park left to soak in what was happening.

Rupeni Raviyawa got New Zealand on the board right before half-time, yet they headed up the sheds stunned as the Australians had a 36-7 lead at the break.

Uys should’ve had his second, carried over the in-goal line by scrum half Marco Miln, going way above his weight class.

NZ kept fighting and Siale Pahulu got their confidence up with a deserved try, with their hopes of a remarkable comeback alive when his wing partner Lautasi Etuale followed him over.

Treyvon Pritchard got the Aussies back in control with a lovely burst from the scrum to dive over.

The two teams traded rolling maul tries, with Oliver Smith getting over for the hosts.

Flynn Morey scored late for the Kiwis, but it was too little, too late as the Australians secured the win and the half century with a late TJ Talaileva try.

Australia U18s 55 (Tries: Risati 2, Uys, Orr, Conway, O.Smith, Talaileva, Pritchard, Foakes; Cons: Mackay 5) def New Zealand Schools 33 (Tries: Raviyawa, Pahulu, Etuale, Patumaka Makata, Morey; Cons: Viljoen 2, Taylor 2)
