Quotes
"I think we have responded well from the first game. I think we took lots of lessons out of that and we have dealt with each challenge in the meantime. I believe we have grown our game to a point where we go into the quarter-finals really well prepared. Whatever happens, whoever we play, it's going to be a massive game but that is what quarter-finals should be like. So we are ready.” - New Zealand coach Ian Foster
"What I will remember is the feeling that Uruguay gave everything. After the first 30 minutes, because of mistakes we made, they managed to score. And in the second half they took advantage of our mistakes…It is the end of a great World Cup for Uruguay, not just the games but the passion.” Uruguay coach Esteban Meneses

Quotes
"It's a successful match. The target was to qualify - despite having won the opening match against New Zealand and the two middle matches, we had to beat Italy. We did that, and we're happy with the score too. The fact that we were able to field all the players and control the match from start to finish with all 23 players, that's satisfying.” - France coach Fabien Galthié
"Very disappointed, but we got a reaction. I think we were in the game but we started poorly. We gave away three penalties early. But we got a reaction, you saw how they fought towards the end. They stuck at it today. If we could have gone into half-time at 24-7, the game would have been a lot closer. Those are little things that make a massive difference.” Italy coach Kieran Crowley

Louis Rees-Zammit scored a hat-trick of tries as Wales maintained their momentum ahead of the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals with a six-try 43-19 win over Georgia to seal top spot in Pool C with a fourth successive victory.
Wales will likely play Japan in the knockout stages after another accomplished display in which they led 17-7 at halftime but had to withstand a Georgian rally in the second period.
They scored other tries through prop Tomas Francis, fullback Liam Williams and centre George North, and gained revenge for a shock 13-12 loss to Georgia last November, a result that hastened the exit of former coach Wayne Pivac.
Georgia go home without a win but have been competitive and managed an 18-18 draw with Portugal. Their tries came from captain Merab Sharikadze, hooker Vano Karkadze and wing Davit Niniashvili.

Quotes
"It wasn't pretty but we got the job done. They have worked incredibly hard in the off-season building up to this World Cup. You get a lot of confidence from the work you put in and it was a great atmosphere within the group. Probably struggled a bit today, Georgia aren't a bad side. They put us under pressure but we got the job done and we can now focus on next week.” - Wales coach Warren Gatland
“This is the first time Georgia has played every game aiming to win. We didn’t meet our target so we are disappointed to finish our World Cup without a win. We will analyse it and do a review. We lost some players - nine players were missing due to some injuries. I am not here to find excuses. That’s not the point. We played some good rugby but we couldn’t show that in the final result.” - Georgia coach Levan Maisashvili

Quotes
“The first thing I’ll say is immense credit to Samoa. I thought they played brilliantly. They talked about it as being their World Cup final and that is exactly how they played. They really tested us and forced us into lots of errors. It was a very scrappy performance for long periods and a really tough test.” - England coach Steve Borthwick
"That was a tough one. If I’m being honest, my heart breaks for these boys. I thought they deserved a lot more. We did enough to earn victory. Such is the cruel nature of sport, it wasn’t to be.” - Samoa coach Seilala Mapusua

Quotes
"First things first, we will enjoy tonight because it was a big week for us. It was a big game for us as Scotland are a great team. I'm sure once we have recovered properly with a spring in our step, if you can't get excited about what is coming, this is proper living now.” Ireland coach Andy Farrell
"Well, we conceded a lot of points in the first half which made it very difficult to win the game. I think the early try wasn't really a factor because for the next 15, 20 minutes we put some good rugby together but we didn't have any points on the board. But the tries before half-time, which we will obviously look at (and see) if we could have defended better, but I've got to give credit to Ireland. They executed very well and the game went away from us.” Scotland coach Gregor Townsend

Quotes
"There's always nervous moments in the coaches' box. The tournament's been so competitive and even when you feel like you get yourself ahead a bit, everyone is playing for their lives, right? We gave them a few easy entries back into the game, which was unfortunate, but if you look on the positive (side) of that, if we can turn that around and get better at that next week, maybe we'll be (in) for a chance." - Argentina coach Michael Cheika
“I wasn’t happy with our tackling all the time. It was a hard test match, but the net result is we lost. That’s all that counts. “We played a quality Argentine team. The result was tight but some soft moments, some mistakes cost us. But I’m proud of the way my team played against a strong Argentine team.” Japan coach Jamie Joseph

Solomone Kata scored two tries as Tonga gave retiring coach Toutai Kefu a winning send-off with a seven-try 45-24 victory over Romania as the two canon-fodder teams of the Group of Death served up a cracker after suffering a month of beatings.
Tonga had too much power and speed as Afusipa Taumoepeau, George Moala, Sione Vailanu, Pita Ahki and Kyren Taumoefolau also crossed for tries.
Romania, who battled back to reach halftime at 21-17 having trailed 21-3, have conceded the most points of any team in France with 287 in four games.
It was the best performance of the tournament by both teams – unsurprisingly given that the other three in the pool were ranked in the world's top five

"It was really important. Our programme is not perfect but a win like that gives everyone a lift and a bit of evidence that we are doing some things well. I think the campaign has been disappointing. We expected more, we would have loved to have got one more win. We competed in those three games at various times, just not for the whole 80 minutes...But it was good to finish off with a win" - Tonga coach Toutai Kefu.
"We are here today to talk about the game against Tonga. We will carry out an assessment when we get home. Today it was quite clear, we expected more from this game. We had a lot of hope. Since the beginning we had placed our hopes on this match for a positive result. Unfortunately, we didn't succeed in winning today. That was our goal. We managed to score three tries but too easily we committed individual and team errors but we kept hope. We kept on hoping until the start of the second half and the balance was broken." - Romania coach Eugen Apjok

"It's incredible. It's unbelievable, they always find resources I never expect. The way they could score, it's amazing. Even if we work a lot to be able to do things like that, they still surprise me after four years. it is an incredible group, an incredible team and they are players who are really talented." - Portugal coach Patrice Lagisquet
"Congratulations to Portugal, they played really well. Stuck in there once we took the lead. Thought we had it but they scored the try. Fully deserved victory to them. Disappointed not to get the win, we dropped too much ball. We were a bit tight in the context of the game. Created lots of opportunities but we just didn't throw the ball out to our outside backs. So congratulations to Portugal, they can enjoy tonight." Fiji coach Simon Raiwalui
