Winger Max Jorgensen is determined for the Australians to avoid the same fate as 2024 after an opening Test win over Los Pumas in Jujuy.
Two years ago, the Wallabies followed up a last-play win with a 40-point defeat in Santa Fe as the team struggled to deal with illness and a red-hot Argentina.
It's their second-highest loss and the highest since 2008. The memories are still fresh for Jorgensen.
"I think a big [motivation] is looking back at two years ago when we were over here last time," Jorgensen said. "We had a close win in the first game. It was good to get that, and then went to Santa Fe the week after and put in a pretty poor performance and lost by a fair bit, as everyone knows.
"It obviously hurts deep down losing a Test match by that much, so it's definitely at the back of our minds for the boys that were there."
The Wallabies are currently enjoying a four-game winning streak, which is their longest since 2023-24.
A fifth would tie the mark under coach Dave Rennie in 2021, the second time in a decade they would've recorded as many wins.
It builds crucial momentum ahead of next year's World Cup, with the opener against Hong Kong China almost exactly 13 months away.
"It feels great. Everyone wants to be in a winning change room after a Test match. To do it four times in a row now is pretty special," Jorgensen said.
"The World Cup is going to be massive, and I think everyone has it in the back of their mind but we've got a task at hand, and that's to beat Argentina this week."
