The Fijian Drua have broken the hearts of the ACT Brumbies after an 80th-minute try gave them a famous 21-15 win in Lautoka.

Replacement front-rower Salanieta Nabuli proved the hero as she found the try-line well after full-time for the win.

Wallaroo Faitala Moleka put the Brumbies in front in the torrential conditions with a penalty goal with seven minutes to go before a powerful scrum gave the Drua a chance late.

It allowed the Drua one last chance, as Nabuli found the line, to the disappointment of the Brumbies, who were adamant the ball had slipped out of her hands amid their desperate scrambling defence.

The Drua took the chance to freshen up their squad and the Brumbies made them pay early.

They marched down the field and a quick tap had the hosts on the back foot, allowing Biola Dawa to cross after seven minutes.

The Brumbies got a further chance to press their might after Loraini Senivutu went to the bin for a cynical foul.

Andy Friend’s side teams turned the points but couldn’t find a way through with the extra player as they went into the break with a 5-0 lead.

As the rain turned torrential, the Drua front-row brought the hosts back into the game and Vika Matarugu was there for the crucial try.

But the Brumbies were quick to respond through their inspirational leader Siokapesi Palu, stepping, juggling and diving her way over the line for the try.

Another yellow card to the Drua failed to halt their momentum as they pushed for the lead once again.

Eventually, Vitalina Naikore created something out of nothing, collecting the chip kick and racing away for a great try.

Moleka’s penalty got the Brumbies back in front before the last minute try to Nabuli snatched victory for the Drua.
