Queensland will end a 35-year European tour drought next year with the Reds scheduled to tackle Bristol Bears ahead of the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season.

The UK Premiership powerhouse will host Queensland in a historic clash at Ashton Gate Stadium on Friday January 31, 2025, with the Reds currently in talks to add a second tour match against another European club.

Queensland coach Les Kiss told rugby.com.au the tour would be invaluable for his playing group.

"Firstly, to offer a program and the opportunities for our players to experience these types of environments and those types of games of rugby is absolutely vital for us.

"When you look at the group of young men we have here, they'll play the British & Irish Lions next year so we'll be able to touch ground over there and get a sense and a feel for what it is to play against a team like that."

"There's going to be a lot of value that we get from that. When this was mentioned to the leadership group, they described it as epic."

The announcement follows the success of Crusaders-Bristol tour match in February and strengthens a Queensland tour calendar including July's exhibition clash with Wales at Suncorp Stadium and the Reds' ongoing relationship with Japan League One pacesetters Saitama Wild Knights.

Further details around ticket and general sale information will be released in due course by Queensland Reds.
