The Brumbies look to lock up a top four spot against the Rebels

ACT Brumbies coach Stephen Larkham has welcomed back a host of Wallabies for their quarter-final against the Hurricanes.

However, he will be without flyer Corey Toole, with the winger ruled out of Saturday's clash.

Toole limped off the field during the second half of last week's win over the Melbourne Rebels after scoring the opener.

The Sevens convert has been one of the breakout stars of 2023, scoring nine tries in his 13 games, with Ollie Sapsford shifting to the wing in his place.

Sapsford's versatility has been invaluable for the Brumbies, filling in across the backline this year, set to play his second game on the wing.

"'Tooley would certainly be in there in terms of form but we just didn't have the time this week to get him out there in the combinations we need to see," Larkham told reporters.

"We considered everything with Corey, he's been outstanding for us this year.

"The smart thing for him right now is to continue his rehab to hopefully get in a position where he's available next week."

However, it's mainly positive news for Larkham and the squad, with several stars returning for a rematch of last week's quarter-final.

Wallabies veteran James Slipper headlines the inclusion, missing the Rebels clash due to the birth of his child.

Slipper is joined by hooker Lachlan Lonergan in the front-row, with Allan Alaalatoa still on the sidelines with a calf injury.

Noah Lolesio has recovered from a concussion, with Larkham opting to keep Jack Debreczeni in the starting side as Lolesio returns via the bench.

In further news, Pete Samu reverts back to his familiar number eight jersey, shifting Rob Valetini to blindside flanker.

“This is the time of year everyone plays for and we’re in a good place heading into a massive challenge against the Hurricanes," Larkham added.

“We love playing at home, and we know we’ll have the crowd behind us so we’ll be ready to go at 7:35pm Saturday night.”

BRUMBIES (1-15): James Slipper, Lachlan Lonergan, Sefo Kautai, Nick Frost, Cadeyrn Neville, Tom Hooper, Jahrome Brown, Pete Samu, Nic White (c), Jack Debreczeni, Ollie Sapsford, Tamati Tua, Len Ikitau, Andy Muirhead, Tom Wright

RESERVES: Connal McInerney, Blake Schoupp, Rhys Van Nek, Tom Hooper, Luke Reimer, Ryan Lonergan, Noah Lolesio, Jesse Mogg
