Lloydies become Super Rugby rivals
The ARU’s Indigenous academy had a bit to celebrate in the weekend’s Reds vs Rebels game, with both reserve scrumhalves - Harrison Goddard and Moses Sorovi - graduates of the Lloyd’s Indigenous program.
The pair didn’t make it on in the clash but both have made their Super Rugby debuts and will be players to keep an eye on for the future.
Horne in enemy territory
Rob Horne and the Waratahs visited Sylvania Bulldogs on Saturday for a training session as part of the club’s return from the bye week.
Horne hails from close rivals Oatleigh and his memories at the Bulldogs weren’t quite so fond, with some vicious sledges coming their way.
Oatley’s junior sides got their way some of the time, putting on ‘cricket scores’ some weekends, according to Horne.
Ironically the area was home to Rebels flyhalf Ben Volavola not that long ago, a man who will be trying to unravel the Wallabies come June as part of the Fiji team.
Mother’s Day mentions
Players from across the country were paying tribute to their mothers on Sunday but we reckon the cutest is this post from Wallabies youngster Reece Hodge, with his mum after a Test in 2016.
