The Aussie7s are in the Cup Semi-Final against Fiji after disposing of England 14-5 in the Quarter-Finals.

Australia’s Men’s Sevens will meet Fiji in the Hong Kong Cup semi-final after beating England 14-5 on Sunday afternoon.

In a grinding game, two Australian tries proved to be enough to push them into the final four, but it was some Herculean defence that kept the Aussies in front.

The Aussies are through to their fourth straight Cup semi-final, hoping to go one step further than two runner-up finishes and a third place in their past three World Series legs.

A Cam Clark try handed Australia a 7-0 lead heading into half-time as the sides battled in a Hong Kong downpour.

Stephen Van Der Walt weaved through two English defenders in the 9th minute to score Australia’s second and put them 14-0 up as the clock ticked down

Boyd Killingworth produced a superb effort in-goal to stop Ruaridh McConnochie from snatching a try with less than two minutes remaining.

As England continued to hammer their defensive line, Australia absorbed each attack with desperate defensive efforts.

Dan Norton snuck a try in for England with 16 seconds to go, to get his side on the board, but it was too late for the Aussies to concede the match.

Australia will take on Fiji in the Cup semi-final at 6:06 pm AEST, LIVE on FOXSPORTS.
