Rayasi follows in the footsteps of his father Filipe, who played 13 times for the Flying Fijians.

The outside back is one of several overseas stars named in the starting side, with Bristol duo Kalaveti Ravouvou and Bill Mata included in the side.

Racing 92 powerhouse Josua Tuisova lines up in the centres with Iosefi Masi, with Toulon winger Jiuta Wainiqolo completing the outside backs.

Fijian Drua halves Simone Kuruvoli and Caleb Muntz start after Frank Lomani’s injury ruled the veteran scrumhalf out.

Hooker Tevita Ikanivere leads the side, with Peni Ravai and Eroni Mawai in the front-row.

Isoa Nasilasila and Temo Mayanavauna complete the tight five in the second row, with Lekima Tagitasivalu and Elia Canakaivata joining Mata in the back-row.

Philip Baselala is in line for his debut on the bench, completing a meteoric rise that started with his Drua debut in Super Rugby Pacific.

Baselala is one of several Drua players on the bench that includes Haereiti Hetet, Mesake Doge, Mesake Vocevoce and Isaiah Armstrong-Ravula.

“It’s exciting times for us,” coach Mick Byrne told reporters.

“All our players have come down from the north, who have gelled well together as a team and it’s an exciting opportunity for us to get in against Australia in Australia, especially in a Lions year when there’s a lot of excitement around."

Fiji are looking for a first win in Australia in over 70 years, having stunned the Wallabies 22-15 at the 2023 World Cup in France.

FIJI (15-1): Salesi Rayasi, Kalaveti Ravouvou, Iosefo Masi, Josua Tuisova, Jiuta Wainiqolo, Caleb Muntz, Simione Kuruvoli, Viliame Mata, Elia Canakaivata, Lekima Tagitagivalu, Temo Mayanavanua, Isoa Nasilasila, Peni Ravai, Tevita Ikanivere (c), Eroni Mawi
