The Buildcorp National Rugby Championship Final will see McInnes Wilson Lawyers Brisbane City take on Property Club Perth Spirit at Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane on Saturday evening.

The two teams find themselves in the Final after defeating the first and second placed teams, Melbourne Rising and CSU NSW Country Eagles, in the Semi-Finals last weekend.

Brisbane City’s path to the Final

For the second time this year, Brisbane City travelled south to play the CSU NSW Country Eagles in a thrilling decider, after having narrowly defeated the home side by eight points in Round Four.

In their second encounter, the Semi-Final, Brisbane City trailed NSW Country Eagles 26-16 at half-time, but fought back to produce an impressive come-from-behind win, finishing the match 32-26.

Brisbane City’s leading point scorer, Jake McIntyre, will be looking to add to his current tally of 70 points when he runs onto Ballymore this weekend.

Perth Spirit’s path to the Final

Going down to the Rising 24-44 in Round Four, Perth Spirit returned for the Semi-Final with additional Super Rugby players rounding out their squad.

Perth Spirit used a platform of solid defence to surprise competition powerhouse, Melbourne Rising, winning last weekend’s Semi-Final (29-45) at AAMI Park in Melbourne.

The home team had won every game in the regular season, racking up 40 competition points – the maximum available – until their shock loss to Perth Spirit.

With the Buildcorp NRC doing wonders for the club players now exposed to a higher level of Rugby (including 46 non-contracted Queensland club players), local supporters are sure to fill the hill at Ballymore and show their support for new competition.

The Final will be held at 6.30 pm AEST (7:30 pm AEDT / 4.30 pm AWST) on Saturday, November 1 at Ballymore Stadium, Brisbane.

The match will also be broadcast live and exclusive on FOX SPORTS 3.
