Websites & Digital Support

A club website is one of the most important tools a Rugby club can use to connect with players, parents, volunteers, sponsors and the local community.

Social media is useful, but it should not be your club’s only digital presence. A website gives people one clear place to find key information, including how to register, who to contact, where to play, upcoming events, fixtures, results and important club documents.

A good club website can help your club:

  • attract new players, volunteers and supporters
  • promote sponsors and commercial partners
  • share news, events, photos and club history
  • publish fixtures, results and ladders
  • store policies, codes of conduct and key documents
  • reduce administration by answering common questions

What should your website include?

At a minimum, clubs should include:

  • registration information
  • key club contacts
  • teams, programs and training times
  • fixtures, results and ladders
  • club news and events
  • sponsor information
  • policies and important documents
  • merchandise, fundraising or event links
  • social media links
Already have a website?

Before switching platforms, confirm who owns your domain name and whether your current provider will let you export your content. If a past committee member set it up, track down admin access as soon as you can.

Recommended starting point:

 Rugby Xplorer

Rugby Xplorer should be the first option clubs consider. It is built for Rugby and connects with key Rugby systems, including registration, fixtures, results and ladders. Clubs can create a free website through Rugby Xplorer, with a Pro option available for clubs wanting additional features.

For many clubs, Rugby Xplorer will be the simplest and most Rugby-aligned option.

Other platform options

Some clubs may want additional website or digital support, particularly if they are looking to build out merchandise, events, sponsor promotion, news, digital content or broader member engagement.

Foco Sport is a paid website and digital support service for Rugby clubs. It may suit clubs wanting a more managed solution, including website setup, live competition data, automated content, sponsor visibility and ongoing support.

Clubland is an award-winning Digital Clubhouse platform for community Rugby, available on a paid subscription. It may suit clubs looking to develop a connected digital presence, including a website, native app, automated results, social media scheduling, an integrated newsletter and a Supporter CRM. Ultimately, your club website does not need to be complex, it needs to be accurate, current and easy to manage. Start with the basics - help people find your club, register, contact the right person and stay connected throughout the season.
