Governance & Compliance
Building Strong, Safe, and Sustainable Rugby Communities
Good governance is the foundation every sustainable club is built on. This section gives club administrators the policies, structures and planning tools needed to run a well-governed, compliant, and future-ready club — protecting members and volunteers while building the credibility that underpins long-term growth through the Golden Decade. It's also where clubs lay the groundwork for Club Impact Program recognition, with most of the requirements for Bronze status sitting right here.
Sub-sections
- Governance — Committee structures, constitutions, and decision-making frameworks that keep clubs accountable and well-run. A current, lodged constitution and a committee registered on Rugby Xplorer are core requirements for Bronze recognition.
- Compliance — Incorporation, ABN registration, and legal obligations every club must meet with their state regulator. Active ABN status, incorporation, and financial reporting to your state regulator and the ATO all count toward Bronze.
- Child Safeguarding — Policies and training to protect young players and create safe environments, in line with state and territory legislation — a Bronze-level requirement for every club.
- Strategic Planning — Tools to help committees set a clear 3–5 year direction. A current strategic plan is one of the hallmarks of a Gold-recognised club.
- Policies — Ready-to-use policy templates covering codes of conduct, member protection and more, helping committees govern with confidence at every level.
