Born and raised in Boston, MA, Erica Jarrell-Searcy found rugby at Harvard University while studying Molecular and Cellular Biology. Competing in Basketball and Cross Country in High School, Jarrell-Searcy also won gold in Eventing during the Junior Olympics in 2016. Transitioning into rugby, Jarrell-Searcy walked on to the team her freshman year and was invited to the 2018 Junior National Team Winter Camp in Chula Vista, catching the eye of the National Team.

Jarrell-Searcy began playing her club rugby with local Beantown RFC in the Women's Premier League, eventually earning selection to the 2021 Rugby World Cup traveling roster. Though she would not debut during the tournament, Erica earned her first USA cap in 2023 against New Zealand, coming off the bench at second row. In 2025, as a starting Lock, she was again named to the USA Rugby World Cup roster in England.
