Nic White snipes over for his first try for the Western Force in Super Rugby Pacific 2024.

The signing news keeps coming for Wallabies fans, with Nic White becoming the latest star to commit to Australian rugby, signing a one year extension with the Western Force.

The 71-capped Wallaby star joins a promising contingent of stars committing to the Perth franchise, including Ben Donaldson, Nic Dolly, Carlo Tizzano and Tom Robertson.

Moving over following the 2023 Rugby World Cup, White has earned 23 caps for the Force to go with his 112 caps for the Brumbies - working as an effective scrum half double act with Issak Fines-Leleiwasa, as well as combining well with Donaldson at flyhalf.

He is also expected to be included in Joe Schmidt's squad for the Wallabies against the British & Irish Lions - having missed out on the 2013 series due to a shoulder injury.

“I’m excited to extend my stay with the Force,” White said in an official press statement.

“The big factors for me were family and the Club’s direction. My young family love it here in Perth and we really wanted to stay.

“As a Club, I genuinely believe we’re going somewhere here. This season didn’t finish the way we’d like but the promise we showed at the start was really encouraging. The job is now to build on that and that project is really motivating.

“There were opportunities to go elsewhere but my family and I wanted to stay here and I’m really excited about the prospect of being part of the first Force side to make Super Rugby finals. That’s a major goal and driver of mine.”

White's signature will be a valuable one for head coach Simon Cron, with the veteran bringing crucial experience to the side as they look to build on the promising signs shown in the 2025 campaign and secure a maiden finals berth next year.

“Whitey feels strongly about his ability to still add an enormous amount of value next year and we agree as an organisation," Cron added in a press statement.

“He brings high standards and high expectations to everyone around him which is a really important part of high performance sport.

“His rugby brains will not only help develop other nines but also drive the team forward to where we want to go.

"He’s a unique and important part of the rugby landscape in Australia and we’re lucky to have him.”
