FULL REPLAY: History as NSW Waratahs, Western Force open Super Rugby AUS competition

The inaugural match of the 2025 Super Rugby AUS competition is complete as the NSW Waratahs face the Western Force at Warringah.

The new-look competition represents the return of a third-tier tournament in Australian Rugby ahead of a golden period for the sport.

There’s a mix of youth and experience across both sides, with 31-capped Wallaby Matt Philip leading the Waratahs, with Lawson Creighton his vice.

Wallabies hopeful Darcy Swain leads the way in the second-row for the Force, with experienced playmaker Kurtley Beale on the bench.

On the other scale, Australia U20s stars Sid Harvey (Waratahs) and Boston Fakafauna (Force) are set for their first taste of Super Rugby.
