The Western Force are delighted to today announce the re-signing of Wallabies utility back Hamish Stewart following his career-best 2024 season.

The 26-year-old has re-committed to the Force following an outstanding 2024 Super Rugby Pacific campaign which led to his maiden Wallabies call-up for the recent Tests against Wales and Georgia, along with last week's call-up for the upcoming Tests against the Springboks where he could make his debut.

Toowoomba-born Stewart had joined the Force ahead of the 2023 season and has played 28 games for the club, scoring three tries, reaching his 100th Super Rugby cap in the final round against the ACT Brumbies.

Stewart’s breakout 2024 season also saw him finish equal fourth in Super Rugby for tackles (180) while having a team-high 85 carries across the campaign.

He finished third in the Nathan Sharpe medal, voted by Force players throughout the 2024 season.

Stewart said: “I’ve loved life in the west over the past two seasons playing alongside close friends for a club moving in a positive direction, so I’m thrilled to re-sign with the Force.

“I’m also enthused by what the Force program and coaches can do for my development, given what I achieved personally in 2024 with my first Wallabies call-up.”

Force head coach Simon Cron, who worked with Stewart during his time with the Australia U20s, said he was delighted to have the versatile back re-commit to the Club.

“Having Hamish re-sign shows he’s really investing in the Western Force and WA rugby,” Cron said.

“I think he had one of the best seasons I’ve seen of Super Rugby this year. He’s tough, he’s strong, works really hard.

“The boys love him. He’s the kind of guy that leads by doing. He does a lot for us as a team.

“Personally and for us, as a franchise, we were really happy to have him coming back.”
