Dave Rennie had an emphatic and blunt message when asked if he had concerns surrounding Lachie Swinton's growing disciplinary record: "No".

Swinton was re-called into the Wallabies side for the deciding Test match against France at Suncorp Stadium.

It'll mark the first time the 24-year-old returns to the line-up following his explosive debut, sent off after 35 minutes despite an impressive defensive showing.

He would once again receive his marching orders during the final round of Super Rugby Trans-Tasman., issued a red card for a high shot on Chiefs back-rower Luke Jacobson.

After a lengthy tribunal, Swinton's card was eventually rescinded by SANZAAR, clearing him to take part in the series.

Swinton sees red

Despite the growing rap sheet, Rennie has no concerns about starting Swinton, backing his aggressive nature whilst pushing the focus towards improving his tackle height.

“He’s got a bit of a reputation,” Rennie said on Swinton.

“He got a red card at clubland for having a bit of a punch up which is pretty standard for a forward. He got one recently which is incorrect and one in his first Test.

“We looked at his first 35 minutes and he was devastating in defence and he just got one wrong where he didn’t dip and caught Sam Whitelock with a shoulder.

“Six months earlier, that (tackle) would’ve had been a card let alone red. But there’s certainly been a focus and an emphasis on our boys around getting lower and dropping their body height and the footwork required to do that.

“Lachie’s ready to go. There’s very little in some of those selections. He was very close to being named in the first round and we decided not to make any changes for the second so now he gets his chance."

Rennie also confirmed flyhalf James O'Connor has aggravated a groin complaint, keeping him out of Saturday's Test.

He was hopeful the experienced playmaker would be available for the Bledisloe starting on August 7.

O'Connor joins a host of hookers on the sidelines, with Feleti Kaitu'u (calf), Connal Mcinerney (head knock) joining Alex Mafi (concussion) and Dave Porecki (calf) in the injury ward.

However, there was some positive news as Rennie revealed Jordan Petaia is back to full fitness, set to make his return via club football.
