The Wallabies have confirmed fullback Andrew Kellaway will miss Saturday's opening Bledisloe Cup match against New Zealand in Auckland.

Kellaway has been ruled out with a calf strain as the Wallabies hunt to end their hoodoo at Eden Park.

It comes after Rob Valetini didn't make the trip to Auckland due to his ongoing calf issue.

The Waratah had found his home at fullback following Tom Wright's season-ending knee injury.

Kellaway has started the last two games for the Wallabies, initially beginning the season off the bench, but he will miss a shot at the All Blacks, the team he scored his first three international tries against.

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has several options to replace Kellaway, including moving wingers Max Jorgensen and Harry Potter to fullback.

Jorgensen, who is yet to play against the All Blacks, was excited about the opportunity to test himself against the arch rivals.

“It's always been a massive rivalry, the Bledisloe Cup," he said on Tuesday.

"Watching it growing up, [I] always dreamt of playing in something like the Bledisloe Cup, and if given the opportunity, it would be awesome.

Potter started the first three Tests of the season for the Wallabies, including the first two British & Irish Lions matches.

However, a hamstring injury put him on the sidelines, finally working his way back to full fitness.

Alternatively, Schmidt could move Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii from the centres where he plays for the Waratahs.

It comes with Len Ikitau back to full fitness after sitting out the defeat to Argentina in Sydney.

The Wallabies will announce their team to face the All Blacks on Thursday.
