Joe Schmidt’s squad is filled with exciting talent and young guns who are ready to burst onto the scene.
With World Cup Tickets and Experiences going on sale, rugby.com.au asked a quartet of Wallabies legends to predict who will be the breakout superstar by 2027.
“I think we've all talked about Max Jorgensen being amazing. So I don't know if he's a breakout star anymore because he's just doing it at the level now. I've been so impressed with Max.
“I think Suaalii is only going to come on in leaps and bounds. I wouldn't be surprised if someone like a Marky Mark [Nawaqanitawase] comes back from rugby league and wants to have a bit of a taste of a World Cup. We know how good he was in Paris.
“He was great at the World Cup over there and he’d get a chance to have a home World Cup.
“There's plenty of forwards. There's plenty of guys I can talk about.”
“I'll say Teddy Wilson.
“I think if you look at it across the board, players that maybe we've already had. I don't know if you can look too far out of guys that have already been blooded somewhat, right? We're a couple of years out.
“I think Teddy's been on the fringes. He was great in the Aussie 20s. I think he's been fantastic in the opportunities he's got for the Waratahs, and especially against the Lions.
"I think he was pretty impressive and I just think that Teddy Wilson will announce himself at the 2027 World Cup.”
“I really like Max Jorgensen. I feel like every time he goes out there, he competes.
“I just love a competitor. I love he's not the biggest winger, maybe not the fastest, maybe not the strongest.
“I reckon people underestimate how fast and strong he is, but I just love the way he competes and plays for his country.”
“There's a lot of talent there that have started putting their hand up [like] Joseph Suaalii, and Tate McDermott. We've got a very good competitive back row. Mate, look at Will Skelton's performance. I don't think he's going anywhere.
“Angus Bell, right? One of the best ball carriers of the game. There's a really good spine there that we're going to work around and it's the provincial teams that are really showing some form too.
“So I think if we can start to really develop, grow on the performances of our provincial teams that go into the international test windows, I think we'll be in really good shape. But I'm loving where they are.”
