Super Rugby Women's TOTW: Looking at the best players from Round Four

The penultimate round of Super Rugby Women's saw plenty of players impress as they looked to stake their claims before time ran out.

The NSW Waratahs were the big winners as they locked up the minor premiership with a win over the Western Force.

As for the Queensland Reds, they got their first win of the year after holding off the Melbourne Rebels whilst the Fijian Drua outclassed the ACT Brumbies.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has consulted injured Wallaroo Emily Chancellor to help select its team of the week for round four.

1. Salanieta Nabuli (Fijian Drua)

Nabuli carried the ball strong and got some great strips in contact in their win over the Brumbies.

The prop also made life difficult at scrum time for her opposition to secure the tough win.

2. Brittany Merlo (NSW Waratahs)

Merlo was consistent with her throws and got some key turnovers at the breakdown.

Her great workrate across her stint helped the Waratahs secure victory.

3.  Charli Jacoby (Queensland Reds)

Jacoby delivered some clutch scrum penalties for the Reds, inspiring them to their first win.

The USA prop played 60 minutes just days after playing an international against the USA in the UK.

4.  Kaitlan Leaney (NSW Waratahs)

Her lineout detail was excellent in the victory as she continues to thrive on her return to the sky blue.

Leaney was also strong with her carry, providing front foot ball constantly for the Waratahs backline

5.  Michaela Leonard (Western Force)

The Wallaroos captain scored for her first try in five seasons as she tried to will the Force to victory.

Leonard is a bit of a quiet achiever, hitting breakdown after breakdown and quick on the fold.

6. Grace Baker (Queensland Reds)

Baker has had an impressive debut season for the Reds and delivered a physical performance for the Reds.

She was involved a lot in the close battle and had some perfect defensive reads out in the wider channels.

7.  Lydia Kavoa (ACT Brumbies)

Kavoa was dominant in the physical battle against the Drua.

The backrower was a defensive weapon as she took it to the defending champions.

8. Leilani Nathan (NSW Waratahs)

Nathan crossed for a double as she played the perfect up-tempo footy that the 'Tahs thrive on.

She was physically strong in defence and often carried over the advantage line.

9. Layne Morgan (NSW Waratahs)

Morgan won the battle of the nines, manipulating the game excellently as the game started to open up.

The Wallaroo was a constant threat with her darting and passing off the deck whilst holding her on in defence.

10. Faitala Moleka (ACT Brumbies)

Moleka delivered a poised performance, controlling the game and driving them around the park.

She had some great cross field kicks and directed her forwards well despite the defeat.

11. Jemima McCalman (ACT Brumbies)

McCalman has been a consistent and reliable performer for the Brumbies this year.

She had some crunching tackles in defence to go with a fearless approach to her carries.

12. Shalom Sauaso (Queensland Reds)

Sauaso was the standout for the Reds and of the round as the teenager sensation continues to shine.

The centre had a pair of tries in the first half to go with a handful of breakdown turnovers and a physical presence in attack and defence.

13. Ashley Marsters (Melbourne Rebels)

Masters worked well in setting up her teammates to run some nice direct lines as well as creating space, often breaking the first tackle.

Having played nearly every position, Marsters is finding her feet perfectly in the centres.

14.  Maya Stewart (Waratahs)

A noted finisher, Stewart added a kick to her game this week to further trouble defenders.

Her weaving and acceleration into space are second to none with an insane amount of tackle busts, coming off her wing well in search of work

15. Luisa Tisolo (Fijian Drua)

Tisolo was one of the Drua's best in the win over the Brumbies.

She was key in the Drua's kicking game and an absolute attacking threat with ball in hand on the counterattack.
