The Western Force continued their winning ways with a great performance against the Queensland Reds whilst the ACT Brumbies held on to defeat the Melbourne Rebels.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has selected its team of the week from Round Two.

1.     Brianna Hoy (NSW Waratahs)

Hoy had excellent work rate and impact off the bench as she continues to grow following her Wallaroos debut last season.

She was key in establishing scrum dominance, winning four penalties for the Waratahs.

2.     Tania Naden (ACT Brumbies)

Naden was crucial in the Brumbies’ tight win over the Rebels in Canberra to open their account for the season.

She scored twice, including an impressive breakaway for a great individual effort whilst winning key turnovers in crucial moments.

3.     Eva Karpani (NSW Waratahs)

Likewise with Hoy, Karpani’s impact off the bench was significant in the win over the Fijian Drua.

The Wallaroos Player of the Year scored an amazing try off the lineout where she beat five defenders as part of her dominant carrying performance to go with a plethora of scrum penalties.

4.     Kaitlan Leaney (NSW Waratahs)

Leaney impressed on her return from the UK, scoring a deserved try in her first game back for the ‘Tahs.

The Wallaroo was a master at ruck-time with her work crucial in securing the breakdown and clean ball for her backs whilst dominating the lineout game as the primary caller.

5.     Atasi Lafai (NSW Waratahs)

The lock was dominant and physical in the contact area both attack and defence.

Lafai was crucial in the win on her return from injury, sporting the facial brace.

6.     Mel Kawa (Melbourne Rebels)

Kawa hasn’t lost a step on her return from giving birth in 2023.

The Rebels skipper willed the Rebels back into the contest with some key turnovers in the close defeat.

7.     Skye Churchill (NSW Waratahs)

Churchill’s breakout season continues as she fills the void left by Emily Chancellor.

She got through a mountain of work around the park and was impressive over the ball, eventually crossing the line for a try.

8.     Piper Duck (NSW Waratahs)

The Waratahs and Wallaroos captain continues to lead from the front in NSW’s quest to re-gain the Super Rugby W title.

Duck delivered strong powerful carries in the testing conditions and showed off the playmaking ability with a perfect offload to Kaitlan Leaney for her try.

9.     Samantha Wood (Western Force)

Wood has been the breakout star of Super Rugby W in 2024

She gave great service to her backs, played great eyes up footy and delivered a solid kicking game to deliver the win over the Reds.

10.  Arabella McKenzie (NSW Waratahs)

McKenzie has stepped up for the Waratahs on her return from Harlequins.

She created great attacking opportunities all afternoon for her pack and directed the team to a dominant win over the Drua.

11.  Desiree Miller (NSW Waratahs)

Miller is powerful and strong in contact and dominated the Drua in Lautoka.

She’s a great threat on the left wing and was constantly beating players for speed as she crossed for a double in the strong win.

12.  Merewai Cumu (Fijian Drua)

Cumu was the standout for the Drua in the tough defeat.

She sparked them with a solo intercept try whilst consistently breaking the defensive line with her carries.

Hume’s partnership with Trilleen Pomare is blossoming out in the west.

The centre was crucial in the historic and impressive win over the Reds.

Stewart is the ultimate finisher, constantly beating the defence whenever she touches the ball.

The Wallaroo scored a double on the weekend, including a great solo effort that started well inside her own half.
