Scrumhalf Tate McDermott and backrower Liam Wright can't wait to test themselves against a world class French outfit.

Brumbies coach Dan McKellar has handed flanker Luke Reimer a debut start ahead of their match with the Hurricanes.

It caps a remarkable rise for the 21-year-old, selected in the back-row alongside Rob Valetini and Henry Stowers.

The Lonergan brothers will also get the chance to start in front of a home crowd, joined in the starting side by Bailey Kuenzle and Mack Hansen.

Wallabies Nic White, Tom Wright and Irae Simone will come off the bench as the Brumbies look for their first win of the Trans-Tasman tournament, wearing a special playing strip to celebrate Pasifika Round.

"Obviously we didn't get the results we were after over the last three weeks and we're looking for a response from the team on Saturday night," McKellar said.

"Luke has been training well all year and has performed well off the bench in his time in the Brumbies jersey so far.

"Lachlan, Bayley, Ryan and Mack have all been good for us and they've earned their opportunities in the starting side this weekend.

"It's been six weeks since we've had the chance to play at home at GIO Stadium and we're looking to recognising our Pasifika connections with a special jersey on Saturday night and also giving our Brumbies Family an opportunity to celebrate Allan's 100th Super Rugby match last weekend."

Brilliance from Salesi Rayasi to score in the corner

Meanwhile, Hurricanes and All Blacks back-rower Ardie Savea takes over the captaincy as he continues his return from injury.

He is joined in the forward pack by hooker Dane Coles and Devan Flanders, who missed their thumping win over the Force.

Ruben Love has fully recovered from his injury suffered in Round One and will take his place at flyhalf.

Billy Proctor also returns at centre, with Julian Savea and Salesi Rayasi forming a monster wing combination.

“We’ve taken a lot of confidence out of the three wins we’ve had so far but we are very focused on what we need to do to reach our collective goals,” coach Jason Holland said. “While we’re in a really good position on the table we know there are massive challenges ahead and the Brumbies at home is right up there.”
