The Brumbies have reinforced their home-grown approach to recruitment and retention after announcing the re-signing of hooker Connal McInerney.
McInerney joins fellow local product and hooker Lachlan Lonergan in re-signing with the club, committing until the end of 2023.

The 26-year-old has cemented himself in the Brumbies squad after originally signing as injury cover in 2018, playing 36 games over the past four seasons.
Despite missing the majority of 2021 with a fractured fibula, he made a successful return during the club's recent NZ trip, crossing for their lone try in last week's 38-10 loss to the Blues.
Called into Dave Rennie's squad at the end of last year, the Canberra Royal product is looking to build off this experience heading forward as he continues playing for his dream club.
“It’s awesome to be staying here at the Brumbies for at least the next two years,” he said in a statement.
“I grew up in Canberra and dreamed of playing for the Brumbies and to be able to live out that dream every day is something I don't take for granted.
"I have a lot of goals I want to achieve on the field with this team and I’ll continue to work hard and put everything into the jersey for my teammates, our supporters and for the club.”
McInerney's re-signing reflects the strength of Canberra's pathways and the continual value the club places on building and maintaining a home-grown squad.
In the past six weeks, the club has announced the re-signing of the likes of Nick Frost, Rob Valetini and Rory Scott.
For coach Dan McKellar, McInerney typifies the culture the Brumbies are built on and is excited to see how the hooker develops over the next two seasons.
“We’re delighted to be keeping Con at the Brumbies until at least the end of 2023," he added.
“He's the classic Brumbies story of someone who earned an opportunity by staying ready and taking that chance with both hands when he got it.
"His growth and maturity as a player and as a person over the last few seasons has been impressive but he knows he's got plenty of improvement left in him.
“Seeing Con go from a good club player to someone who’s on the national radar is a testament to his dedication and attitude which he'll no doubt continue to show while here at the Brumbies."
