Round Six of Super Rugby Pacific was nearly a clean sweep for the Australian teams as the competition heats up.

It started with an emotional win for the ACT Brumbies in Canberra over the Chiefs in James Slipper's record appearance, followed by an impressive victory in Fiji for the Queensland Reds.

Meanwhile, the NSW Waratahs let slip a strong half-time lead as they fell to the Blues in Sydney.

Rugby.com.au breaks it down and selects its Team of the Week from the Australian teams in Round Six.

Front Row: James Slipper (ACT Brumbies), Josh Nasser (Queensland Reds) and Dan Botha (NSW Waratahs)

A special night for James Slipper ended in success as he broke the record for most Super Rugby appearances with a stellar showing for the Brumbies.

He is joined by Reds hooker Josh Nasser, who was great in testing conditions in Fiji to narrowly beat out Ethan Dobbins, continuing to shine.

Dobbins’ NSW teammate Dan Botha rounds out the front-row after another stellar set piece showing for the prop, dominating at scrum time while also bagging a deserved five pointer.

Second Row: Nick Frost (ACT Brumbies) and Seru Uru (Queensland Reds)

The two rangy locks stepped up for their respective sides in crucial wins.

Frost was a workhorse throughout the 80 minutes, leading the Brumbies for tackles (13) whilst also commanding the lineout.

Meanwhile, Uru relished the return to Fiji and was involved in everything across the park alongside partner Lukhan Salakaia-Loto, who could’ve easily been picked as well.

Back Row: Rob Valetini (ACT Brumbies), John Bryant (Queensland Reds) and Charlie Cale (ACT Brumbies)

Valetini was at his powerful best, eating at the post-contact metres in close as he worked tirelessly in attack.

He is joined by try-scoring machine and Brumbies teammate Charlie Cale, getting another five pointer in the tidy outing.

John Bryant rounds out the forwards after a monster defensive afternoon with 24 tackles and several turnovers.

Skipper Harry Wilson was very close to edging out Cale, with the Wallabies skipper lifting as always with the leadership.

Halves: Ryan Lonergan and Declan Meredith (both ACT Brumbies)

The Brumbies duo are becoming near automatic picks such is their form at the moment.

The pair sliced through the Chiefs' defence, with Meredith showing the smarts down the short side for a nice try. Lonergan also looked dangerous whilst making some big kicks.

Harry McLaughlin-Phillips and Jack Debreczeni were also standouts in a good weekend for the starting tens.

Centres: Hunter Paisami and Isaac Henry (both Queensland Reds)

The bruising duo matched the Fijians for physicality as they took over the contest.

Paisami didn’t miss a beat on his return from injury, while Henry continues his rich run of form in the midfield.

Hudson Creighton was valuable for the Brumbies, scoring a crucial try, but the playmaking and control of Paisami in the midfield gave him the nod.

Outside backs: Filipo Daugunu (Queensland Reds), Kye Oates (ACT Brumbies) and Sid Harvey (NSW Waratahs)

Daugunu was best on ground for the Reds in their historic win in Fiji, relishing the return home. The winger was unstoppable with ball in hand to go with some big turnovers in defence.

He is joined by the former Sevens duo, both superb for their respective sides. Oates continues to lift with no Tom Wright, breaking five tackles, while Harvey’s move back to fullback was an inspired decision by coach Dan McKellar and paid off big time, even in defeat.
