Highlights from the Round 4 clash of Super Rugby Pacific 2024 between the Melbourne Rebels and Queensland Reds.

Round Four of Super Rugby Pacific was a mixed round for the Australian sides as players start to find form.

The Queensland Reds were the big winners and naturally dominate the team of the week after a convincing win over the Melbourne Rebels, whilst the ACT Brumbies fought their way to a win over the Highlanders.

As for the NSW Waratahs and Western Force, they were left disappointed after defeats to the Blues and Moana Pasifika respectively.

With this in mind, Rugby.com.au has selected the best from the Australian sides for round four.

1. Peni Ravai (Queensland Reds)

Ravai continues to turn back the clock for the Reds, thriving in the starting role with no Alex Hodgman or Sef Fa'agase.

He was strong with his carry, barging over for a try as part of the first half rampage.

On top of this, he was reliable in defence and nullified Taniela Tupou at scrum-time.

2. Matt Faessler (Queensland Reds)

Faessler maintains his strong start to the season as he rockets towards the top of the try-scoring table.

Whilst he refers to maul tries as 'team tries', Faessler has been great in finding the line to go with a physical defensive display which saw him record several dominant tackles.

For this, he just edges Julian Heaven, who was immense on his starting debut.

3. Zane Nonggorr (Queensland Reds)

Nonggorr completes the all-Reds front-row as he brutalised the Rebels.

The tight-head was effective with his five carries, breaking two tackles whilst reliable in defence.

4. Seru Uru (Queensland Reds)

Uru has found his place in the Reds pack after a standout night in the second-row.

His unique skill set for his frame troubled the Rebels all night as he led the game with 19 carries.

He was the catalyst behind their quick up-tempo play with four offloads and was unstoppable near the line as he crossed for a double

5. Nick Frost (ACT Brumbies)

Frost is the lone non-Red in this pack (spoilers) but deserves his place in the side once again.

The lock was a defensive wall, stepping up with a team-high 16 tackles along with one of a few Brumbies with 12 carries for the afternoon.

He also won the majority of their lineouts and stole a key one on their line to just edge out Ryan Smith.

6. Liam Wright (Queensland Reds)

Wright firms as a potential Wallabies bolter as he continues to impress under Les Kiss.

The co-captain was everywhere for the visitors, regularly beating his man in attack whilst recording a dozen tackles.

7. Fraser McReight (Queensland Reds)

Another world-class display by the form seven in the competition.

McReight had four try assists as he glided around the park to put his fellow forwards over for five-pointers.

He was also at his usual best at the breakdown with a trio of steals and 13 tackles.

8. Harry Wilson (Queensland Reds)

Wilson has gone to another level in 2024.

The backrower had 14 carries and constantly made metres with nearly every charging run.

He also set up his co-captain Wright with a nice ball inside to cap off the first half rampage.

9. Tate McDermott (Queensland Reds)

McDermott just beats out opposite number Ryan Louwrens after a great battle between the two nines.

The Wallaby lit up AAMI Park with his electric running style, constantly getting them on the attack with his quick delivery at the ruck.

It just puts him ahead of Louwrens, who had a trio of try assists as part of their second half comeback.

10. Noah Lolesio (ACT Brumbies)

Lolesio delivered a masterclass in how to close out a tight game.

He was perfect from the boot to keep ticking over the scoreboard and controlled the game with his in-play kicking.

11. Corey Toole (ACT Brumbies)

Corey Toole’s rise continues after another strong performance to stake his Wallabies claims.

Toole was limited in his opportunities but when he got one, he took it with a great burst down the sidelines to score an excellent individual try.

His chase of Sam Gilbert was also pleasing as he cleared his line and followed the playmaker to force a rushed kick.

12. Hamish Stewart (Western Force)

Stewart was one of the lone sparks in a tough night for the Force.

His kicking game was solid, including an early 50-22 that was more a 50-5.

Along with this, he was great in defence, winning a turnover whilst making some clutch tackles

13. Josh Flook (Queensland Reds)

One of the closest battles of the year but Flook nabs the spot just in this team.

Flook crossed for a double, recording two line breaks and had a hand in several of their tries throughout the night.

He also won a key turnover as the Rebels started to mount a comeback, holding out Izaia Perese after he was standout for the Waratahs with a plethora of tackle busts.

14. Mac Grealy (Queensland Reds)

Grealy has been a quiet achiever for the Reds in 2024.

He impressed once again with some great carries in which the winger bumped off larger defenders to keep the Reds on the attack.

Grealy two two clean breaks to go with a trio of tackle busts to earn his selection over Andy Muirhead and Triston Reilly.

15. Tom Wright (ACT Brumbies)

Wright was at his best when the Brumbies needed him the most.

He powered over the line for a crucial try when the visitors needed a boost.
