Farr-Jones, Lynagh, Fittler, Baxter and Brial are just some of the famous last names set to light up the opening round of the Super Rugby Next Gen competition this weekend.
The new-look competition will feed into the Australia U20s program ahead of this year's World Rugby Junior World Championship in Georgia.

Whilst certain teams will be allowed to field players over 20 in 2026, the teams have named line-ups filled with exciting future talent linking to the past.
The NSW Waratahs will open the competition against the Western Force on Saturday, with a host of second-generation stars out to make a name for themselves. Tom Farr-Jones, nephew of 1991 World Cup winning captain Michael, will line up on the wing, while Zach Fittler continues his Rugby Union career in the centres after deciding against following dad Brad to the NRL and the Sydney Roosters.
In the forwards, Toby Brial pulls on the sky blue jersey at number eight, following the path of dad Michael instead of brother Joe, who will play a big part in Queensland's Super Rugby Pacific squad. Lotu Vunipola will come off the bench, the latest in a growing family tree that includes Test stars Mako, Billy and Manu.
For the Force, they have turned to their Academy stars, with winger Chase Bunce, the nephew of former All Black Frank.
New recruit Max Innes will start at fly-half, joining from the Northampton Saints Academy, with the likes of Peni Naqau, Luke Holt-Brown and Chris Jansen previously named in Australia U16s squads.
Like the Waratahs, the Queensland Reds are filled with Rugby royalty, who will travel to the nation's capital to face the ACT Brumbies on Sunday
Tom Robinson, son of World Rugby Chair and Brumbies legend Brett, features in the back-row against his father's side, while Tom Howard follows in his family's footsteps and lines up on the wing. Howard is a fourth-generation Rugby phenom, with dad Pat, grandfather Tom and great-grandfather Cyril Towers all pulling on the gold jersey.
Hooker Isaac Rauluni also gets his shot in the forwards, with father Jacob captaining Fiji.
On the bench, Nic Lynagh gets his first shot at Australian Rugby after linking up with brother Tom at Ballymore. The outside back is the youngest of the trio that includes Italy star Louis.
For the ACT Brumbies, Finn Baxter comes off the bench as replacement hooker, keeping the front-row tradition with father Al.
On top of this, there are several players within current Super Rugby Pacific squads to go with a large contingent from the Australia U18s teams that swept their New Zealand counterparts in 2024 and 2025.
Reds centres Frankie Golsborough and Treyvon Pritchard, along with fullback Nicholas Conway, have spent time under Les Kiss throughout the pre-season, with Eli Langi (ACT Brumbies) and Leo Jaques (NSW Waratahs) will be hunting for their Super Rugby debuts.
Prop Kingsley Uys headlines the graduating U18 talent ready for their next step up, with lock Will Ross, flyhalf Finn Mackay, Waratahs second-rower Isaac Fonua and Brumbies duo Jarvis Orr and Chayse Geros also playing massive parts in the three-peat over the Kiwis at the under-age level.
