Hot on the heels of securing the 2025 captain and the Wallaroos’ highest point scorer, Rugby Australia has confirmed the signings of four uncapped players to their national contracted squad for the 2026 season.

World Cup squad member Caitlin Urwin, ACT Brumbies pair Lily Bone and Ella Ryan, and Western Force’s Brooklyn Teki-Joyce are all confirmed to join the program next year, signalling the arrival of the next generation of players following several retirements.

Playing for Australia A and travelling to the 2025 World Cup, Urwin is set to push for a debut in 2026 after strong form for the Queensland Reds.

“Securing the next generation of players is an important part of the Wallaroos' planning as we look ahead to the next World Cup cycle,” General Manager of Women’s Rugby Jilly Collins said in a statement.

“Caitlin has shown impressive commitment and high potential this year after strong performances for the Reds and Australia A.

“She earned her place in the Rugby World Cup squad and played an important role in England while gaining valuable experience.

“We certainly believe in her future, and this 2026 agreement provides her with the clear opportunity to achieve her first Test cap.”

Bone and Ryan also made the Wallaroos' extended training squads throughout the 2025 season, with Bone proving a valuable pick-up in the second row after making her debut for the ACT Brumbies in 2025.

Ryan returned to rugby union after a stint with the Canberra Raiders in the NRLW, the scumhalf representing Australia in the Sevens format at the Global Youth Sevens in New Zealand and Brumbies in the Next Gen 7s competition.

“Lily joined us midway through the year, participating in training camps to assist the Wallaroos' preparation for the World Cup,” Collins said.

“She demonstrated her talent while playing for Australia A in June and has been identified as a player with significant future potential within the national program.

“Ella is a confident and dynamic player who is highly regarded by coaches and peers.

“She had a solid season with the ACT Brumbies and was consistently integrated into Wallaroos training camps throughout the year.

“We believe she will go to another level in the Wallaroos program in 2026.”

Brooklyn Teki-Joyce

Completing the quartet, Teki-Joyce serves as a valuable utility option, playing both on the wing and the back row.

Having been part of the Nedlands junior pathway in Western Australia, the 23-year-old has played rugby in New Zealand with Bay of Plenty, having also spent time in the Black Ferns development system.

“Brooklyn is a player the coaches have identified as a key prospect, and we are delighted she has accepted a contract to join the Wallaroos Managed Group,” Collins said.

“She had a strong Super Rugby Women’s season with the Western Force this year, with her exceptional speed out wide and valuable versatility being a huge advantage to the squad.”

The Wallaroos are set for a busy preparation period in December, with new signings continuing to be rolled out, their 2026 Test schedule set to be announced in early December, and the side set to come together for a pre-season camp in Sydney next week.
