For Wallabies legend and bid board advisor Gary Ella, the opportunity to bring the World Cup back to Australia would be massive for developing and inspiring the next generation of players.

"It's fantastic for the Rugby community. To come alive and invigorate Australian Rugby would be fantastic," he said.

"It would also be great to have that many people coming over to watch the Rugby and enjoying our hospitality would be great for everyone to enjoy themselves.

"If we win the bid next year, it'll be great for young people coming through to watch the game and aspiring to be playing in that particular tournament."

One of these players with 2027 ambitions is Waratahs centre Joey Walton, who admits the prospect of playing in a home World Cup would be incredible.

"It'd be awesome. It would be great for Australian Rugby and I think any World Cup motivates any player," he added.

This was shared by Wallabies coach Dave Rennie, who believe the global event will allow the sport to stand out in the crowded Australian sporting landscape.

"It's a massive opportunity to promote our game and put it in the forefront of the whole country," Rennie said.

"It's a chance to connect the whole country so I think it's really important and exciting."
