The NSW Waratahs have confirmed the signing of Queensland Reds flyhalf Lawson Creighton for the 2025 season.

Creighton makes the move after four years with the Reds after debuting in April 2021.

Tickets to 2024 Wallabies home Tests are available here.

The 26-year-old played 34 games for the club, including starting in their 2022 quarter-final defeat to the Crusaders.

“It has been a really enjoyable season. The Reds built on their game with smart and tactical improvements and to win in Christchurch after so long was a big thing in Queensland rugby’s history,” Creighton said in a statement.

“It’s tough to leave close mates I’ve come through the local pathways with but those friendships don’t change. I leave with only good memories.

“I feel I’ll get the opportunity for more minutes where I’m heading and I’m ready for new challenges.

“I started with the Reds as a shy newcomer (in 2021). I put my head down and worked on my game to build those foundations of a No.10.

“Consistency is what you are aiming to develop and I now feel pretty comfortable at Super Rugby level.

“The Reds have a number of good young No.10s for the future. I wish the team good luck.”

Reds coach Les Kiss paid tribute to the flyhalf, who is coming off guiding Brothers to back-to-back Hospital Cups.

“We would have loved Lawson to stay,” Reds head coach Les Kiss said.

“He has been an excellent and valued figure for the Reds over a number of seasons. We fully respect his decision.”

Creighton's signing comes after the Waratahs announced half a dozen new additions at the start of the week, including former Junior Wallaby Henry O'Donnell and Hurricanes lock Ben Grant.
