The Brumbies have nabbed Reds centre Hudson Creighton on a two-year deal until the end of 2023.

Creighton was handed his Reds debut during the final round of the Trans-Tasman competition against the Hurricanes.

Having gotten a taste of Super Rugby, the 21-year-old was eager to build on his appearance as he heads south, despite his brother Lawson recently inking an extension with the Reds.

“I’m really excited to be coming down to Canberra to join the Brumbies," he said in a statement.

“The club and the program have such a strong reputation for getting the best out of players and I’m really keen to get stuck into preseason and put my best foot forward.

“From everything I have heard, the club is very welcoming and has that family feel so my job is to just make a good impression, work hard for my teammates in preseason and put my hand up for selection this season.”

The excitement was shared by coach Dan McKellar, who believes Creighton is the perfect type of player to flourish in the Brumbies system.

“We’re delighted to welcome Hudson to the Brumbies," he added.

“He has all the right attributes that will help him fit in at the club. He’s strong, aggressive in contact with an excellent left boot, and from all reports, he’s a hard working young bloke who's ready to come down and chase that Super Rugby dream.

“This preseason block with Seiby and Lord will be great for his development and he’ll be a quality addition for us at least these next couple of years.”
