Perth SVNS Day Three RECAP: Australia defeated in both finals on home soil

Finals day is here as a packed crowd is set to fill HBF Park at the Perth SVNS.

Both Australian sides finished runners-up after making it to the Final

The Women went down to Ireland after defeating New Zealand and the USA on their way to the decider.

As for the Men, they once again were defeated by Argentina in a Final after overcoming the USA and Fiji

5:50 - Australia 5 v Argentina 31

Argentina have claimed back to back titles with a 31-5 win over Australia.

Marcos Moneta and Matteo Graziano crossed for doubles as they cruised to the title.

It's their second title in a row after they defeated the Aussies in Cape Town

5:10 - Australia 14 v Ireland 19

Ireland have claimed the Perth title 19-14 over Australia.

Eve Higgins proved the hero with a late try to secure their first ever title.

4:40 - Ireland v Fiji

Ireland have taken third place with a 24-7 win over Fiji.

Josese Batirerega opened the scoring for Fiji before Terry Kennedy answered straight back for the Irish to level the scores at the break.

Kennedy's second put Ireland in front before Gavin Mullin sealed the win with a double

4:30 - No Terita for Final

The Aussies will be down both their flyers for the Final against Ireland after Bienne Terita's leg injury.

Terita was not selected for the Final as a result of the knock, joining Maddison Levi on the sidelines.

4:10 - Great Britain 24 v USA 10

Great Britain has capped off a strong weekend with third place at Perth thanks to a 24-10 win over the USA

GB took a 12-0 lead into the break, headlined by a great solo effort from Isla Norman-Bell.

Rhona Lloyd then showcased her speed to ice the game with five minutes to go despite a late USA charge

3:25 - South Africa 24 v France 5

The Blitzboks have taken fifth with a 24-5 win over France

South Africa were dominant from the opening whistle, with Shilton Van Wyk scoring the first try as they took a 14-0 half-time lead.

Selvyn Davids scored straight after the break before Donavan Don sealed the comprehensive win.

3:00 - France 10 v New Zealand 14

New Zealand have held on for a 14-10 win over France.

The French put them under pressure early with two tries before the Kiwis mounted a comeback.

Young gun Kelsey Teneti delivered the killer blow, getting New Zealand in front in the final minute in her debut tournament.

2:35 - USA 27 v Spain 12

USA have locked up seventh place with a 27-12 win over Spain.

Perry Baker was at his electric best, crossing for a hat-trick on his return to the Sevens circuit.

Malacchi Esdale also scored a great solo effort to seal the win

2:15 - Fiji 5 v Canada 26

Canada have finished seventh thanks to a 26-5 win over Fiji

Canada took the crowd out of it early with two quick tries to take a 12-0 lead into the break.

Whilst Fiji mounted a comeback after the break, Charity Williams blazed away to secure victory.

1:25 - Fiji 7 v Australia 22

Australia will play in the Final after a 22-7 win over Fiji

Australia opened the scoring through Maurice Longbottom, however, Fiji were there to level the scores at the break.

Inspired by the home crowd, tries to Nathan Lawson and Henry Palmer sealed the win

1:05 - Argentina 24 v Ireland 5

Argentina are into back-to-back Finals after defeating Ireland 24-5.

It was all Argentina in the first half as they took a commanding 19-0 lead.

From here, they could not be caught as they booked their place in the decider.

12:45 - Australia 24 v USA 7

Australia will face Ireland in the Final after a 24-7 win over the USA

The Australians built the lead early as they took a 12-0 advantage into the break.

Dom Du Toit's second try in two games sealed the win early in the second half.

12:10 - Ireland 31 v Great Britain 7

Ireland have booked their place in the Final with a 31-7 win over Great Britain

It was all Ireland as they dominated the first half with a 14-point lead into the break.

They closed out the game thanks to Eve Higgins and Lucy Mulhall as they cruised into just their second Final in World Series history.

11:50 - New Zealand 21 v Samoa 14

New Zealand have scored in the final seconds for a 21-14 win over Samoa.

Both sides traded tries as the game looked set to go into extra time.

Needing a spark, Tim Mikkelson had just enough pace to get away from the defender and score.

11:30 - Brazil 7 v South Africa 0

Brazil have secured ninth in the women's competition with a tight win over South Africa.

Neither team could crack the scoreline in the first half as defence dominated the contest.

Gabriella Lima’s try just after the half-time break was the lone score of the game as Brazil held off a South African side that will take plenty of confidence out of the weekend.

11:05 - Great Britain 17 v Canada 5

Great Britain has finished their tournament on a high with a 17-5 win over Canada.

Robbie Fergusson opened the scoring as they shut down the Canadian attack until after the whistle.

Morgan Williams got a double either side of the break as they claimed 11th.

10:45 - Spain 5 v Japan 33

Japan have claimed 11th place in the women's competition with a 33-5 win over Spain.

Honoka Tsutsumi claimed a double as they raced away with a 26-0 lead at the break.

Spain were no match as Tsutsumi's second secured the win
