With so many players and clubs doing media each day, it can be hard to keep on top of a lot of the stories coming out.

Rugby is filled with them across all levels of the game and whilst most are covered through some form of media, there are others that might have slipped off the radar as Super Rugby Pacific and the first Wallabies squad dominates discussions.

One Percenters returns from an Easter break and looks at everything you might have missed from the week of Rugby.

Marinos floats Australia A fixture

RA CEO Andy Marinos has confirmed they are looking at further Australia A fixtures after its reintroduction last year.

The program played in the Pacific Nations Cup in July before a three-Test series against a Japan XV.

Marinos told reporters they will look at a further fixture before the Rugby Championship opener against South Africa as preparation ramps up for September's World Cup.

“We are looking at an Australia A game in June just to tick some of the guys over as we lead up into the first game against South Africa," he said.

“We’re pushing up really hard against the end of Super Rugby before the Internationals start because we don’t have the July in-bounds (Tests) so we go straight into the Rugby Championship and the World Cup.

“It’s pretty compacted once Super finishes. We’re busy working on (who that might be against)."

Stats to stun

In the modern game, there has never been a time when stats have been richer and more available to clubs, coaches and fans.

As data continued to develop, take a look at some of the more interesting and unique stats heading into the eighth round of Super Rugby Pacific, courtesy of Opta.

  • The Reds have struggled away from home, only winning one of their last seven games, although two have been less than six points
  • Jordan Petaia remains a try-scoring threat, scoring in five of his six games in 2023
  • The Brumbies have won their last four games at GIO Stadium, last losing in May 2021
  • This is reflective of their dominant attack, scoring five or more tries in three of their last four games, having not done so in any of their nine previous games
  • The Waratahs have won their last two games against the Force, the last time they had won more than two was a four-game streak from 2012-14
  • Despite this, expect a close game with each of the Waratahs' last eight games on home soil decided by ten or less points.
  • The Western Force has gone down the blindside on 83 occasions in 2023, the most of any team in the competition.
Force lined up by Cheetahs

The Cheetahs are reportedly set to face the Western Force in four games this year.

According to South African newspaper Rapport, the two teams will face off in Bloemfontein for two matches in September before returning to Perth for a pair of games.

The South African team are currently awaiting word from the EPCR regarding their involvement in the Challenge Cup next season, having made the knockout stages before going down 36-21 to Toulon.

English lock off to Australia

Towering Bath lock Michael Etete is set to make a move to Australia after the club confirmed his departure on social media.

The 200cm Etete has played four games for the club in 2022-23, most recently in a 26-7 loss to London Irish in January.

"Bath Rugby can confirm that Michael Etete has left the club to pursue opportunities in Australia," they said. "Wishing you all the best with the next stage of your career, Mike."

Social post of the week

England women’s coach Simon Middleton's radical suggestion to allow female rugby players to take conversions further in from touch has garnered plenty of response online.

Middleton suggested the conversions should be brought in 10 metres from the touchline if they scored in the corner as the Red Roses deal without first-choice kicker Zoe Harrison.

Right on cue, the Rugby World Cup account posted a near-two minute video of kickers, including Harrison, slotting them from the sidelines from last year's event in New Zealand.
