The Australia Sevens sides are rugged up and ready for the challenge of taking out the Vancouver Sevens title on February 21-23.

The Canadian leg of the SVNS World Series is a rare stop in cold conditions for the circuit, played under the roof of BC Place.

The astroturf surface also presents a fresh challenge, with both teams moving their training to Eastern Surburbs' Woolahra Oval in preparation.

Currently, Australia sits in second place on the women's ladder, two points behind New Zealand.

Captain Bella Nasser was eager to make it back-to-back titles and their third on the World Series in 2024-25.

“We always take it game by game, so we’ve got to get through our pool first and hopefully head into the finals on Sunday," Nasser said in a statement.

"Vancouver is always really exciting, the enclosed stadium makes it different and the synthetic grass makes it a really fast and exciting game.

“If you want to see fun, exciting rugby with awesome energy and crowd and lots of competition, then you should be there!”

As for the Men, they enter the event in red-hot form after their second place finish in Perth.

Co-captain Henry Paterson is a welcome boost, overcoming an ankle injury to be fit for this week's event.

Paterson missed the home event for the second year in a row and was eager to make up for lost time.

"It's been smooth sailing since early December so it's been good to be back with the boys since Perth," he said.

"Hopefully, I can perform well and repay all the people who have put all the effort in."

Liam Barry's side sits in sixth position on the overall ladder, eager to secure their spot in the top eight ahead of May's Final in Los Angeles.
