Australia Men's Sevens captain Nick Malouf is confident inexperience won't be a factor as they look to replicate their London success in Birmingham.
Malouf has been a stalwart of the program for close to a decade, however, missed the 2018 Commonwealth Games in his home state after heading to England with Premiership club Leicester.

He is one of 12 debutants for July's event, with Maurice Longbottom the lone player to taste Commonwealth Games experience.
However, Malouf believes the squad is perfectly positioned to handle the pressures as they look for an inaugural gold medal.
“This is my first Comm Games so I’m equally as excited as the young guys on their first multi-sport tournament," Malouf told Rugby.com.au
“I think the good thing about our squad is we’re all pretty level-headed. We know we’re going over there to get a job done.
“For us, we not just going there to be a part of it, we want to get a good result for Australia. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first or not, we want to go over and achieve something special.”
Australia return to the UK with plenty of confidence after their London heroics in May, defeating South Africa and New Zealand on their way to the title.
Further wins over Fiji at the Oceania Sevens reinforces this, as an under-strength side managed to finish second.
However, Malouf is well aware this means little when they reach Coventry Arena on July 29.
“It’s not so much the conditions but having the same team, knowing all the same teams plus a couple of new ones will be there and knowing we can match it and come away with the gold is huge confidence," he believes.
“It was good (to beat Fiji in Oceania) but they always lift in the big tournaments so we’re under no illusion in Birmingham.
“All we’re doing is trying to get our game right. We’re doing a little bit of research on the teams in our pool and then we’ll keep worrying about what is ahead of us. It’s now up to us to go over and replicate it.
“Looking back on your recent performances, everything is going well and we know we’re no means where we want to be and exactly at the top.
“We’re doing everything right to ensure when we get to Birmingham, we’ll be in a good position to get a good result.”
