The NSW Waratahs have announced their 30-man squad for the upcoming U19 Super Rugby campaign. This talented group comprises of players from across the state, most of whom have risen through the NSW Academy pathways and who are now looking to continue their representative careers.
This year’s U19 Super Rugby tournament has been reformatted to align with the new Super Rugby Championship. The tournament kicks off in September, with most fixtures to be played as double headers, ensuring plenty of must-watch rugby. The refreshed format brings excitement to players, clubs and audiences alike, with high-quality contests on display. Matches will be hosted at popular local venues, with the Waratahs taking a home game to Narrabri as part of the Santos Festival of Rugby.
The selected players have predominantly progressed through NSW grassroots programs and more recently through the NSW Academy system. Many of these players have represented the Waratahs in last year’s U18 games against the Queensland Reds. Since then, they have continued developing through specialised programs with their high schools and the Waratahs and will now begin training together at Daceyville headquarters.
The 30-man squad will begin their training schedule over the coming weeks and push for selection in the starting 15 for their opening game in September.
