Montoya's milestone as Argentina confirm key changes for Wallabies rematch

Argentina veteran Julián Montoya will lead Los Pumas for the 50th time when he takes the field against Australia on Saturday afternoon.

His captaincy milestone headlines an exciting matchday squad for Sydney featuring three changes from last weekend's side that went down to the Wallabies 28-24 in overtime.

Argentina head coach Felipe Contepomi has promoted boom backrower Joaquín Oviedo to the starting pack with vice captain Pablo Matera named as a finisher.

Lock Guido Petti has also earned a promotion with Force-bound Franco Molina moved the the bench.

Sevens star Rodrigo Isgro rounds out the starting changes and replaces Townsville try-scorer Bautista Delguy on the right wing.

Los Pumas currently sit third on the Rugby Championship ladder and need a win over the second-placed Wallabies at Allianz Stadium to keep their title hopes alive heading into a two-game home and away series against South Africa.

Meanwhile Australia have already named their matchday squad headlined by Tane Edmed's starting debut and the return of Queensland trio Hunter Paisami, Lukhan Salakaia-Loto and Josh Nasser.

The Wallabies-Los Pumas clash kicks off at 2pm AEST on Saturday 13 September via the Nine Network and Stan Sport.
