The Western Force is rapt to confirm the re-signing of experienced prop Sef Fa’agase for the 2027 Swyftx Super Rugby Pacific season.

Fa’agase’s contract extension is the latest re-signing for the Force's 2027 campaign following on from Dylan Pietsch, Henry Robertson and Lopeti Faifua in recent weeks.

The versatile prop joined the Force ahead of the 2026 campaign and hasn’t missed a game this season, making a major impact to the front row in his role frequently off the bench.

The 35-year-old’s extension comes ahead of his 100th Super Rugby cap which he’s set to bring up this Saturday night against this former club, the Queensland Reds.

Tickets are on sale now for the Force's next home game against the Queensland Reds on Saturday 16 May 5:35pm via Ticketmaster - the Club's zero2hero Charity Game. Book here.

Previously, Fa’agase tallied 83 Super Rugby caps for the Reds, along with three for the Highlanders (2019) and two for the Melbourne Rebels (2022).

Auckland-born, Queensland-raised Fa’agase, who is of Samoan descent, has brought experience and leadership to the Force squad, along with an ability to play at both loosehead or tighthead.

Force head coach Simon Cron said: “Sef fits into the current group. He’s a great example of the type of person we love at the Force. He’s talented, driven, plays both sides of the scrum, he’s got experience but is still in his prime.

“He’s got connection with a lot of the players here and as a result that helps us with our cohesion.

“He’s a pleasure to work with every day. He’s a competitor, both on and off the field. It’s great to have him in the squad.”

Fa’agase, who has a young family, said he was delighted to extend his stay in the west, pointing to the Force’s tight-knit playing squad and excitement around the side’s future.

“I’m thrilled to re-sign with the Force,” Fa’agase said. “My family are really settled here in WA.

“I’ve really enjoyed the tightness of the Force group. The best thing is the amount of touring we do as a group, which brings us together and makes it feel like family.

“I’m loving what the Force are building towards. Some of the results haven’t gone our way, but it’s part of the process.

“The Force gave me a lifeline in my footy career and I feel a debt of gratitude to repay them by helping them get to a finals series, whether it be this year or next.

“I’m excited about the future at the Force and I really want to be part of it.”
