The NSW Waratahs have re-signed second rower Miles Amatosero, heading into the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific competition.

At 203cm tall and 125kg, Amatosero offers valuable height and power to the forward pack.

Amatosero began playing rugby at Sydney’s Waverley College. After school, he spent three seasons in France with Top 14 club Clermont, then returned to NSW in late 2023.

In his first season with the NSW Waratahs last year, he played fourteen games. With a full pre-season training almost block under his belt, he is ready to show his progress.

“I’m so happy to be signing again,” Amatosero said. “I can’t wait for the season ahead of us now. We’re fitter, stronger and have built a great environment to be in.

“I love this State. I love this club. I hope to achieve great things in the next couple of years. Hopefully one of them is helping to bring the Waratahs back to where we belong.”

NSW Waratahs Head Coach Dan McKellar said: “Miles has plenty of potential there is no doubt.

“We feel within this program and the coaching group here; we can educate him on what a professional rugby player looks like and importantly what a good game from a tight head lock looks like.

“If Miles is prepared to work really hard both on and off the field, we are confident he will develop into a quality lock.”

The NSW Waratahs are in the final block of preparation for their Round 1 home clash against the Highlanders at home in Allianz Stadium, Moore Park on Friday 14 February.
