While the final clash of the Super Rugby U16s regular season will have no impact on next week's final, Victoria and NSW will view it differently as they prepare to play at La Trobe University.

The visitors and current defending champions have an unassailable lead at the top of the ladder and will be coming in fresh off the round four bye looking to maintain momentum as they prepare for the big dance next week against the Reds.

They will be expecting to deliver a big win here, with the Reds fresh off a 58-14 drumming of the Brumbies at Ballymore yesterday, signaling their intent for the final.

However, hosts Victoria will be looking to cap off their year with a second win, fresh off a 31-20 victory over the Brumbies last week - but they will have a tough assignment on their hands in the current ladder leaders, the Waratahs.

Eitini Samasoni and Sione Finau have retained their positions in the backline after impressing across the entire tournament, with Hamish Ward also backing up at halfback.

Dharczy Vaiimene and Esene Junior Paleti also retain their spots after scoring tries against the Brumbies, while Wilfred Estall will provide a significant injection off the bench.

The Waratahs will make six changes to their side, coming in fresh off the bye.

In the forwards, Hugo Lestrange moves from the bench to start as loosehead prop, with Talmage Lemusu and Thomas Chan joining the front row.

Hunter Hall will make his first start at number eight, while Levi Ellis takes over at scrumhalf, and Tom Longland starts on the wing.

Lastly, the side will make two positional changes, with Finn Hannon moving to fly-half and Eduardo Garcia Wood to the centres.
