New Zealand superstar Jorja Miller is in line for a potential historic clean sweep of the World Rugby Awards after dual nominations for Women’s and Breakthrough Player of the Year.

Miller claimed the SVNS Player of the Year in May before making the move to 15s for the World Cup.

The 21-year-old has excelled since the shift, emerging as one of the best for the Black Ferns; however, she missed their semi-final defeat to Canada.

No player across the Men's and Women's game have been nominated for the World, Breakthrough and SVNS Player of the Year in the same year, let alone win multiple awards.

Miller is nominated for Player of the Year alongside England’s Mel Jones and Canada’s Sophie de Goede.

Jones and de Goede will face off in Sunday’s (AEST) World Cup Final, with Jones emerging as the rock of England’s campaign.

Meanwhile, goal-kicking lock de Goede has thrived on her return from an ACL injury, topping the charts for carries, offloads, and lineout takes going into the final.

Canada is hunting their first World Cup title, while England is out for redemption after their 2022 Final loss - their only defeat in the 2020s.

As for Breakthrough Player of the Year, Miller faces stiff competition from teammate Braxton Sorensen-McGree and Fiji’s Josifini Neihamu.

18-year-old Sorensen-McGee tops the try (nine) and point scoring (59) tables, having scored 12 tries in her first eight Tests.

Meanwhile, Neihamu follows in the footsteps of brother Jone Naikabula, who played for Japan in the 2023 World Cup, scoring a double in Fijiana’s historic victory over Wales.

"This remarkable Women's Rugby World Cup 2025 has demonstrated the very best of our game - the values, the unity, the incredible energy,” World Rugby Chair Brett Robinson said.

“At the heart of its success are our players, the stars of the show, who have not only been exceptional performers on the field, but who have forged an incredible bond with fans.

"Today. we are excited to reveal our World Rugby Awards nominees in the women's categories. Congratulations to all, but also to all the players, coaches and match officials who have played their full part in an era-defining year for the sport."
