In good news for Ireland, two big names are set to be available as the side looks to finish the 2025 season in style against South Africa.

Garry Ringrose and Josh van der Flier are available for Ireland's Test, but it's not all good news for Andy Farrell, with Stuart McCloskey set to miss out with an injury, the Irish Rugby Football Union confirmed on Monday.

Centre Ringrose and back-row Van der Flier have both recovered from hamstring strains ahead of Saturday's Dublin meeting with the world champions after missing the 46-19 win over Australia at the weekend.

McCloskey misses out with a recurrence of a groin injury that forced him to retire hurt in the first half against the Wallabies. Bundee Aki was introduced as his replacement in midfield.

Ringrose and van der Flier will also be joined by Leinster prop Thomas Clarkson, who has cleared all head injury assessments protocols and is set to train fully.

The injury returns come at a crucial time for the Irish, with Farrell's side having had the rub of the green over the current World Cup champions, winning four of their last five head-to-head clashes.

South Africa also comes into this weekend's clash having not tasted victory in the Irish capital since 2012, having lost three of their last four clashes at Aviva Stadium, including their infamous 38-3 loss in 2017.

Ireland lost against New Zealand in Chicago before bouncing back to beat Japan and Australia across the 2025 November series.

Saturday's South Africa match is their final game of the Autumn Nations Series.
