Impressive playmaker Ella Ryan got the Brumbies off to a flyer as they took a 12-0 lead before the hosts hit back late in the half.

A double to Tahli Devine put the Queenslanders into the lead, with the Reds racing away to secure the victory.

Following this, it was all the defending champion NSW Waratahs as they rattled off back-to-back wins.

It started with a 24-10 victory over the Reds, with young gun Darci Turinui crossing for a double.

Turinui, daughter of former Wallaby Morgan Turinui, got the opener on the wing as the Waratahs raced out to a 24-0 lead that they would manage until the end.

They backed this up with a 27-7 win over the ACT Brumbies, who were dealt damage by one of their own in Charlie Brigstocke.

Brigstocke, who featured for the ACT side in Super Rugby W, scored a double along with Turinui in the comprehensive victory.

Hurting after two defeats, the Brumbies found their feet through Wallaroo Biola Dawa in a special performance against the Reds,

Dawa scored twice as the four-cap Wallaroo got the new side on the board.

The Queenslanders would complete day one with a remarkable turnaround against the Waratahs, claiming the 19-15 win.

Taleah Ackland scored the only points of the first half as she carried several defenders over the line.

This sparked the Reds as tries to Devine and Evie Sampson extended their lead, hanging on despite two late Waratahs tries.

The action will head to Forshaw Rugby Park in Sydney on August 17, with the regular season wrapping up at Brumbies HQ on August 31.

Following this, the Final will be held at Ballymore on September 13.
