"Unfinished business" is on Harry Johnson-Holmes' mind, with the 91-capped Super Rugby veteran confirming he will sign on for a second season at the Western Force.
The last two years have been a frustrating period for the 28-year-old prop, sustaining several injuries in his final season for the Waratahs, before missing the 2025 Super Rugby Pacific season due to an ACL injury sustained in the side’s pre-season game against the ACT Brumbies in February.
The Wallaby prop has been working behind the scenes to get himself back up to being match day fit, and currently is on track to be ready for the 2026 Super Rugby season.
“Last year was disappointing with the injury so now I feel I’ve got unfinished business at the Force, so I’m thrilled to sign on for 2026,” Johnson-Holmes said in an official statement.
“I’m excited to get back and be among this playing group. It hurt a lot to not be out there helping the guys last season, which has given me even more drive and ambition to get back.
“My rehabilitation has gone well and I’m grateful to the Force medical team who’ve done a really good job getting me back with a view to a full pre-season leading into 2026.”
Should the prop finally overcome his persistent injury issues and get some time in the saddle, he could quickly become a significant asset to Simon Cron's scrum.
Representing Australia U20 at the 2017 Junior World Championships, Johnson-Holmes' best form at the Waratahs saw him called up to the Wallabies, debuting in their 2019 clash against the Springboks in Johannesburg.
“Harry is brilliant both sides of the scrum and that alone would be enough to want to lock him in again," Force head coach Cron added.
"Luckily, he is also a great man and adds to our environment."
“Unfortunately, he had a season-ending injury which meant we didn’t get to see him at Super Rugby level in 2025.
“The medical department have worked really hard with Harry and got him in a great spot to return to full training later this year.
“He’s still a key part of our squad make-up and we believe he’ll add a lot for us moving forward.”
