Siblings Katalina Amosa and Brandon Paenga-Amosa may have a ‘healthy’ rivalry but both savoured in their respective successes over the weekend.

In the space of 24 hours, the hookers pulled on the gold jersey in victory, with Brandon and Force teammate Carlo Tizzano amongst several in the crowd cheering on Katalina as she scored in the Wallaroos' 36-5 win over Wales.

The Brumbies hooker then turned support crew for her brother as the Force hooker earned a late call-up in the Wallabies' 22-12 victory against the British & Irish Lions.

“It was a really special weekend for our family. Very proud parents,” Wallaroo Amosa told Rugby.com.au.

“He's been a big support system for me both on and off the field and I think we just have that healthy rivalry sibling to win a game and get better at our game in the end.

Katalina Amosa’s meteoric rise continued with her selection in the Rugby World Cup squad after her initial plans for 2025 were to return from injury.

“I think post-PAC4 it did sink in a bit but it's just been go from pretty much the start of the season so I probably won't be able to [soak it in] after the World Cup. There were a lot of happy tears,” Amosa said.

“I didn't want to look too far. I think I did that last year and I got injured, unfortunately. So, it was just one week at a time, just playing games and hopefully getting the call up.”

Amosa is eyeing off a maiden World Cup start against Samoa on August 23, with Paenga-Amosa aiming for a start against world champions Springboks, with both games a few hours apart.

The two remain in constant contact as they continue to work together to refine their craft.

“I think we play very similar and I think we move the same way,” Amosa believes.

“He does try and help me as best as he can and he's very supportive.”
