It was all on the line for the Highlanders as they took ok Melbourne Rebels at AAMI Park.

Melbourne Rebels winger Glen Vaihu is the latest player to re-commit to the Stockdale for the foreseeable future, inking a two-year extension.

Vaihu is one of several core players in the Rebels' set-up to sign new deals in the past month.

The 20-year-old has had a breakout 2022 campaign, playing in every game of Super Rugby Pacific as he excelled on the wing.

With brother David signing a new deal last month, Glen was excited to remain in Melbourne as they build for the future.

“I’m just extremely grateful I get to be a part of the Rebels for the next two years,” Vaihu said in a statement.

“I’ve learnt so much from the players and coaching staff and although we didn’t get the results we had hoped for this season, we’re building towards something amazing and I’m so excited to be a part of it.

“The Rebels have given me the opportunity to grow with my rugby straight out of school, so to do that alongside my brother, it’s been great. It’s been a dream of ours to play on the professional stage together and I can’t wait for what’s yet to come in 2023.

“This Club has given so much to us and we can’t wait to give back to the Rebels.”

This was shared by GM of Rugby Nick Stiles, believing he can play a major role in their future.

“Glen is one of our most exciting, young talents at the Rebels, and someone who’s been in our development system for a number of years now,” Stiles added.

“Glen’s got tremendous character, is a hard worker and someone who’s driven to keep growing as a person and a player, which really compliments the culture we’re continuing to build at the Rebels.

“He’s an exceptionally quick player and a strong ball carrier, so to know his best rugby will be at the Melbourne Rebels, that’s really exciting for our Club and our supporters.”
