The number eight was also named Best Forward and led the count from the opening rounds and was never caught.

Gleeson (249) was a clear winner ahead of winger Triston Reilly (160), fullback Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii (158), hooker David Porecki(119) and flanker Charlie Gamble (91).

Centre Joey Walton won Best Back while scrumhalf Teddy Wilson fittingly claimed the Chris Whitaker Aspiring Waratahs Medal as the Most Promising Emerging Player.

As for Friedrichs, she stormed home to claim the honour as the Waratahs won their sixth Grand Final.

The centre (129) bested prop Faliki Pohiva (108), winger Desiree Miller (101), lock Annabelle Codey (96) and flanker Leilani Nathan (49).

Friedrichs was just under 50 points behind Pohiva after Round Five before a remarkable finish to the year gave the Wallaroo the honour.

Fellow Wallaroo Miller was named Best Back, with Annabelle Codey taking out Best Forward.

Prop Seneti Kilisimai was named Rookie of the Year after a strong season in the sky blue.
