The Wallabies have called former All Black Aidan Ross into the squad for the final British & Irish Lions Test in Sydney.

Ross will join the squad ahead of Saturday’s match at Accor Stadium, continuing his sudden rise.

The former Chief joined the Queensland Reds at the start of the Lions tour, featuring for the Reds and AUNZ after becoming eligible for the Wallabies midway through.

Ross, who was born in Gosford, last played for the All Blacks on July 9 2022, against Ireland, completing the three-year stand-down period.

Meanwhile, the Wallabies confirmed Harry Potter will stay in Melbourne after picking up a hamstring injury in Saturday’s loss.

Potter was substituted after 20 minutes, pulling up clutching his hamstring following a Max Jorgensen break.

It forced the Wallabies to play scrum half Tate McDermott on the wing, with the Reds skipper impressing out of position.

“I thought he was super,” coach Joe Schmidt said.

“At one point, he went down the left-hand touch, and he shot past Jamison Gibson-Park, Finn Russell, and Maro Itoje, just managed to ankle tap him to put him on the ground.

“He's a super-competent footy player and we had a fair bit of confidence. During the week, he knew he was covering wing and was ready for it.”

With Potter ruled out, Schmidt has several options to replace the incoming Waratah.

Dylan Pietsch was excellent for the Western Force to start the tour, rocketing into contention after debuting for the Wallabies.

Meanwhile, Filipo Daugunu was excellent this time last year for the Wallabies against Wales and Georgia; however, he suffered up a concussion last week playing for First Nations Pasifika.

It could leave Schmidt to select his second debutant of the tour in Brumbies flyer Corey Toole, who lit up Super Rugby Pacific with his speed.

Alternatively, Schmidt may opt to move Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii to the back three, allowing Hunter Paisami or Josh Flook to come into the centres alongside Len Ikitau.
